Argon 18 E-114 Triathlon Frame
Argon18
has culminated its project Element 114; the new E-114 Time Trial,
and Triathlon Frameset. The new Argon18 E-114 is a complete integrated Aero and
Stemless Fork Aerobar combination that allow for an unprecedented integration of
Rider and Machine from both an Aerodynamic and Ergonomic standpoint. This unit
of purpose and design extends to the Frame, Fork, Headset, Bullhorn, Aero bars,
Brakes, and Levers as well as a Reversible Carbon Seatpost 76/78°. Its frame is
a Carbon Composite Monocoque 6006HM.
ONEness: unit of purpose; the athlete
being as one with the machine.
Simply means an unprecedented merger
between rider and the machine resulting from a complete rethinking of the bike’s
front end and control interfaces. A new look at the various functions of the
bike and its forward elements have led to fluid, smooth surfaces and a
radically reduced frontal area, all for the sake of one single minded
pursuit: to let the Triathlete go faster still.
A New
interface between athlete and machine,
the new AHB5000 aerobar/handlebar combination is completely integrated with the
fork. The entire unit is completely adjustable made of High Modulus carbon,
including armrest is an exclusive Argon 18 molds.
The
E-114 fork
while a
conventional fork remains essentially an articulated structural component that
steers the bike, the E-114 fork also acts as a forward fairing, masking the
conventional headset completely and smoothing the airflow around this part of
the bike.
Completely faired front brake,
the front brake, in its usual, exposed position, disrupts airflow around the
front of the bike. Here, the brake caliper is mounted behind the fork.
Aerodynamics: total Integration, every one of these new components is designed to work
together with the E-114 frame. Using the complete setup maximizes the
aerodynamic and ergonomic advantages inherent in the E-114 concept.
